Curation in the age of infinite tools

Thousands of AI tools launch every month. Almost none of them matter. Draqee exists to tell you which ones do.

About Draqee

The Story Behind Draqee

Before Draqee was a website, it was a habit.

For as long as Nabeel can remember, people around him would come to him whenever they needed help with technology. A phone wasn't working properly, an application was difficult to understand, a computer had a problem, or someone was simply trying to figure out how to do something online. Somehow, Nabeel often ended up being the person they asked.

He didn't always know the answer. But he was curious, and he enjoyed figuring things out. He would look for the solution, try different things, explore the internet, and eventually come back with an answer. Over time, technology became more than something he used. It became something he genuinely enjoyed exploring.

As he grew older, that curiosity followed him into the rapidly changing digital world. He started discovering websites, applications, software, online services, social media platforms, and all kinds of digital tools. Whenever he found something interesting or useful, he wanted to try it himself and, naturally, share it with others.

That eventually led him toward content creation.

At first, content was simply another way for Nabeel to share what he was learning. But as he created more, he began to realize that he enjoyed the process itself. He liked discovering something new, understanding how it worked, and then explaining it in a way that could help someone else. A useful tool could save someone hours, and a simple tutorial could help someone do something they previously thought was difficult.

By December 2022, Nabeel started looking at content creation from a different perspective. After spending years exploring technology and the internet, he began wondering why he couldn't make this his field. Why not build something of his own around the things he already enjoyed — technology, digital tools, content, learning, and discovering new things?

There was no elaborate business plan behind that decision. It was simply a moment when he decided to take his interests seriously and start building a future around them.

As Nabeel continued creating content and exploring new tools, something familiar kept happening. Friends would message him asking about tools he had shown them before. They would ask if he knew a website that could do a particular task, or they would ask him to send them a tool he had mentioned weeks earlier.

The problem was that Nabeel was discovering so many things that he couldn't always remember them himself.

Some tools were saved in bookmarks. Some were buried in old conversations. Others were sitting in screenshots, notes, or browser tabs. And many were simply forgotten.

Eventually, he started thinking about how much easier it would be if all of these discoveries were kept in one place.

That was the beginning of the directory idea.

Nabeel imagined having his own collection of useful digital tools — a place where he could keep the websites, applications, software, and resources he discovered and wanted to remember. Something he could return to when he needed a particular tool and something he could share whenever a friend asked for a recommendation.

But the idea didn't have to remain personal.

If a tool was useful to Nabeel and his friends, there were probably other people looking for the same thing. Someone might be trying to solve a problem without knowing that a tool already existed for it. Someone else might simply want to discover something new.

So the idea gradually became bigger: why not build a place where anyone could discover useful technology?

Then AI changed the scale of the problem.

As generative AI began moving rapidly into the mainstream, new tools started appearing everywhere. Image generators, video tools, writing assistants, coding platforms, voice generators, research tools, productivity apps, automation software, and countless other products began arriving one after another.

The original idea suddenly made more sense than ever.

There was no shortage of tools. If anything, there were too many. The challenge was finding the right one.

And Nabeel was already doing what had always come naturally to him. He was exploring these tools, testing them, learning what they could do, creating content about them, and sharing the ones he found interesting.

Draqee became the place where all of that could come together.

The content could introduce people to new technology, while the directory could give those discoveries a permanent home. Instead of a useful tool appearing in a video or social post and then disappearing into the endless stream of the internet, it could be organized, documented, and made easier to find.

Today, Draqee is growing into a platform for discovering AI tools, technology, apps, digital resources, guides, tutorials, and practical ideas. But underneath all of that, the original reason is still there.

It goes back to something much simpler.

People needed help with technology, and Nabeel enjoyed figuring things out.

Then he started sharing what he discovered.

Then he started creating content.

Then came the idea of putting those discoveries in one place.

And eventually, that idea became Draqee.

The technology has changed dramatically since those early days. The internet has changed. Content creation has changed. AI has changed what is possible. But the curiosity that started it all is still the same.

Nabeel is still discovering things.

Still testing them.

Still learning.

And still sharing the things he thinks are worth knowing.

Draqee is simply the place where those discoveries now come together.
